  Why did you join AGC ?

  After my last contract ended in January 2023, I was faced with a crucial choice: return to a traditional job or take up the bold challenge of creating my own independent studio. Passionate about the video game industry, which has given me so much over the years, I decided to follow my dream. With the support of Pôle Emploi and the Contrat de Sécurisation Professionnelle (CSP), I was able to devote myself entirely to this project, while securing my financial needs. It was in this context that AGC emerged, bringing to fruition years of behind-the-scenes preparation, including a significant collaboration in 2018. Initially, I started alone so as not to impose the uncertainty of the early days on others, but faced with the scale of the challenges, I quickly invited other talents to join me. Happily, many answered the call, bringing their enthusiasm to our Stranded On An Island project.

  What is your role within the team ?

  As an indie, I wear many hats to drive our project forward: CEO, CTO, Lead Developer, Agile Project Manager, Community Manager, among others. I mobilize my skills to move the studio forward, while aspiring to structure the team so that I can delegate these roles and focus on the areas where I'm most competent, notably as technical director and developer.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  Development is going well, despite the intense work required to turn an idea into a viable independent studio. We've adopted a completely telecommuting approach to working with agile methods. Our routine includes a daily 9am call and a sprint review every Tuesday morning. I'm available every morning to support the team, while the afternoon is devoted to my own tasks.

  What do you want to say to the player who discovers your creation ?

  I sincerely hope that you will enjoy our game and that this experience will remain in your memories as a memorable videogame moment. If our creation succeeds in arousing emotions in you, then we will have succeeded in our gamble. I want you to know that I've invested all my passion and energy in bringing you content of the highest quality.

  Why did you join AGC ?

  I've always played video games without ever having had the opportunity to ask myself: "But how do you make a video game?" This question was answered in early 2023 at the Global Game Jam, where I was able to see all the talent and knowledge a production required. Following this event, I had the opportunity to join AGC to try my hand at videogames on a professional level

  What is your role within the team ?

  I'm a narrative designer. In other words, my job is to write the universe, its characters and its events. Having been able to work in the world of role-playing games in particular, the vision I can have of narrative is, I think, an asset that helps me every day to defend themes, create a diegesis and bring depth to the story.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  I'd say on a regular basis. Up until now, I've only worked mornings. Most of my time is spent on a fabulous tool developed by our team: GraphView! It allows me to write and organize the flow of the game, as well as implement events and call functions.

  What do you want to say to the player who discovers your creation ?

  I sincerely hope you find more than you expected. Every word carries a meaning that is a tool defining our world. And if each of you is transported into a different world, then perhaps we've succeeded in making you dream!

  Why did you join AGC ?

  I met Alexis Chrétien a little before AGC was created, and I liked his personality and his seriousness. When I heard he was setting up his studio, I immediately wanted to be part of the team

  What is your role within the team ?

  I'm a composer, in charge of creating music that fits the action and atmosphere. I'm also in charge of making my compositions interactive in order to best transcribe the player's actions.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  I work from my music studio in Aude. Thanks to Discord and the fiber, it's like being in Montpellier with the rest of the team

  What do you want to say to the player who discovers your creation ?

  I hope that my music will help them to embark on the adventure of Awesome Game Concepts' games and that they will enjoy listening to it!

  Why did you join AGC ?

  I joined AGC because it's the kind of work environment I was looking for when I wanted to be a sound designer in video games. It's a small team with whom we exchange and share a lot. On apprends les subtilités de chaque discipline et on s’élève mutuellement dans un cadre sain, autour d’une passion commune. It just gets more exciting every day.

  What is your role within the team ?

  I'm the team's Sound Designer, creating all the sounds (apart from music) that can be heard during the game. I also help with sound integration on Unity via Fmod.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  I've been involved in the project on a voluntary basis since spring 2023, and also thanks to an internship I started in August involving the integration of sound assets on the Unity game engine via the Fmod middleware. Part of my day is devoted to creating, with the help of the lead Dev, the scripts enabling sounds to be played at the right moment. Another part is of course the creation of these sounds and "bringing them to life" with Fmod, via parameters that allow me to make them evolve via the actions of the character or the scenario.
  My work is done remotely, with very fluid communication via Discord, and the help (and patience) of Alexis and the rest of the team means that work is always pleasant and friendly.

  What do you want to say to the player who discovers your creation ?

  We're surrounded by sound, and we don't pay attention to all the really incredible sounds we hear in our daily lives. I try to transcribe them by adding a little something extra, my own stamp. If you're reading this, I invite you to sometimes turn off Spotify when you're playing and listen to all the details that Sound Design brings. Immersion is all about sound, so if you want to feel it as it was meant to be felt, put on some headphones, listen at a comfortable level and vibe.

  Why did you join AGC ?

  I joined AGC to discover life in a professional studio, as well as the professional experience and methods in place, in order to change my working methods, which were still too academic, towards more adapted practices.

  What is your role within the team ?

  My role as a 3D environment artist is to manage the entire 3D process of my assigned tasks, in close collaboration with the other artists.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  My participation in the project is going very well, and I'm learning more and more every week, especially about managing a production and working with lots of new people.

  What do you want to say to the player who discovers your creation ?

  I hope you enjoy playing as much as I enjoy modeling. Seeing someone play on a project I've worked on is magical for me, and watching someone have fun or get involved is even more so, because it's these feelings that made me want to work in this industry!

  Why did you join AGC ?

  I like the atmosphere of indies studios and being involved in every part of a game's development. I also play TTRPG every week. When I met Alexis, the connection was made very quickly, and I was instantly attracted by his game proposal. I quickly joined the team to help him bring SOAI to life.

  What is your role within the team ?

  As a developer, I work on the code and the game engine to add or debug features and make our games even better!

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  I joined AGC after a difficult period of unemployment. Working with the team restored my faith in my abilities, and since then I've been having fun every day making SOAI a game you'll love!

  Why did you join AGC ?

  Looking for my first experience in the professional world of video games, I discovered the Awesome Game Concepts project during a presentation at Push Start. As someone who enjoys narrative games, role-playing games and survival games, I was immediately intrigued and interested by the project. I wanted to learn to work in a serious but pleasant environment, so I'm delighted to have joined the AGC team!

  What is your role within the team ?

  I'm a general 3D graphic designer, which means I'm mainly in charge of modeling and texturing assets for the game. I also sometimes help integrate graphics into the engine.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  I'm having a lot of fun working on the project and seeing it progress, as well as exchanging ideas with people we meet very rarely, if at all, at school. I feel I've learned a lot since joining the team!

  What do you want to say to the player who discovers your creation ?

  I hope you enjoy playing the game! The whole team is passionate, and I'm sure you'll feel it when you play!

  I was interested in the project as a gamer, but it lacked graphics when I tested it, so I wanted to follow the development of a complex game and see how far the project could go.

  I'm a 2D artist, mainly for UI.

  The project is moving very fast and changes a lot from one week to the next, so I feel confident in what I'm doing and in what the team is producing.

  Why did you join AGC ?

  I joined the project after meeting Alexis at a party. I found him and his project very likeable.

  What is your role within the team ?

  I'm a sound designer and engineer, and I have my own recording studio (Studio Les Lutins) in Montpellier. We started recording vocals at the studio. I also help with the audio mixing.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  I've just arrived and the atmosphere seems really nice.

  What do you want to say to the player who discovers your creation ?

  Play with the sound of the game, good speakers, good headphones. Audio is a big part of immersion, and it would be a shame to miss out on it.

  Why did you join AGC ?

  First of all, I'd like to point out that I met Alexis a few years ago. It was during the Hackathon de 2020 organized by Sud Piccel and the Occitanie region. I thought I'd give up video game production for good, but it finally made me want to get back into the world of video games.
  When he asked me to join the project, I immediately accepted. Although I already have a full-time professional activity, AGC is a little island on which I like to land so that I can create and escape.

  What is your role within the team ?

  I'm in charge of the AD, which is still evolving with the project and the resources available, the production of 2D/3D assets with other graphic designers, and the interface. I add a few touches of madness and magic here and there.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  Living in Nantes, I work on the project remotely with the whole team. I saw all the members in the flesh for the very first time, when I was in Montpellier last summer. We all did a JDR session together! Since then, SOAI has gone from strength to strength, making me want to go from strength to strength

  What do you want to say to the player who discovers your creation ?

  I'd like to be able to explore certain aspects of AD even further, and allow players to find themselves in an original universe that offers much more than a survival game. For me, the player's experience should be unique and unforgettable. I may have high expectations, but I dare to hope that my motivation will be contagious!

  Why did you join AGC ?

  I'd already had the opportunity to work with Alexis within the Push Start association, with whom I had a good rapport. When I learned that he had set up his own studio, we talked about the project and I was immediately hooked and wanted to join the adventure.

  What is your role within the team ?

  I'm a 3D graphic designer, so my role is to model everything to do with the environment, to optimize my 3D objects, and to make sure that my work fits in with the artistic direction taken.

  How is your participation in the project going ?

  I'm very happy to be taking part in the SOAI adventure, because I'm free to do what I want, and they trust me.

  Why did you join AGC ?

  To help develop the game Stranded On An Island, the game concept seemed innovative and captivating to me.

  What is your role within the team ?

  I was part of the programming team, in charge of developing new features for the company's internal tool as well as adding gameplay elements to Stranded on an Island.

  I first worked as an intern, then as a volunteer during my summer vacations. Unfortunately, as my school year is about to start, I've had to step away from the project for a while.
